Today is the birthday of Jordan Spieth born Jordan Alexander Spieth in 1993 in Dallas Texas.
In 2009 Spieth won the US junior amateur and then won it again in 2011, he is only the second golfer to win 2 us junior amateurs, Tiger Woods won three.
Spieth played for University of Texas and won three times in his freshman year, helping the Longhorns to win the NCAA championship that year. He turned pro the next year in 2012.
He has won 13 times on the PGA Tour including three majors only the PGA championship remains for speed to win his career grand slam.
Spieth won the 2013 John Deere classic in a sudden-death playoff. He holed a bunker shot on the 72nd hole to get into the playoff with Zach Johnson and David Hearn. And won on the 5th playoff hole.
With this 1st win, Spieth became the fourth youngest PGA tour winner and the first teenager since Ralph Guldahl won the Santa Monica open in 1931.
He is the second youngest to ever win the Masters when he slipped on a green jacket in 2015.
Later in 2015 Spieth became the youngest to win the US Open since Bobby Jones in 1923.
